everybody I need some help with this I didn't pay careful enough attention my Python pulled more water out of my tank that I had salt mix for I put all are RO water back in except for 2-3 gallons of treated tap.

my gravity is a bit low at 1.020

is there anything I can do for this tonight or do I need to make emergency trip to Wal-Mart for salt if they have it

everything in the tank looks business as usual I see no ill affects at this point.

it was probably about 40% water change when I meant to do a 30%

I don't think Wal-Mart has marine salt. If you don't have anything in the tank right now, it should be alright. If you have live rock in the tank, it should also be ok at that level and nothing should be wrong with waiting until tomorrow to get more salt.

I had some damsels who stayed alive with SG at 1.029. My LFS said to get it close to 1.021. I don't think yours is that far off from what is should be.

Thanks. It just makes me nervous. I'm afraid of the shock because I was about 1.023 prior to the change.

IM guessing your tank has not been set up to long based on the question. I think you are going to run into some problems with your inverts in the tank. They can be senseative to the watch param. changes esp. then LTA, they sometimes need a tank of at least a year or more, because of the stability of the tank, with your param swings the tank is not stable. Try to get more salt ASAP....if you can do it in 24 hours or 36 just add the water, if any longer increase the salinity slowly.

going to double check it again first thing in the a.m. it's more stable than I first thought I just panicked a bit because I've tried to be very controlled and measured with this tank.

I'm already regretting the choice of tanks, BC29, I have a 46 bowfront that's currently freshwater and a 55 tall that's not in use at the moment.

Add salt water in with as your top off water until your salinity reaches where you want. I would shoot for 1.025 since you are keeping an anemone.

+1, the fish and rock will be fine. Its the LTA and inverts that may have an issue. good luck
