I would be interested to see this happen so we could all see the pics- I really enjoy seeing everyones tanks. There is so much variety, and they are all so beautiful. I think a contest would encourage more pics up on site

I didin't really mean it to be a competition- more of a showcase.

A group could choose a build or a 'show off your tank' thread, system showcasing unique and innovative things, for me personally- innovative money saving DIY stuff always interests me. Could be lights, on my local forum, there are now 2 people with 'drop off' tanks, dosing systems, it's endless.

It's when you take any standard tank, and build a box/wall in it so that it now has two distinct bottom floors- so an upper area and a 'drop off' to the lower area.

Just another theme on a tank really.

I would also love to see this happen and have different categories like mentioned. Maybe, Nano, 30 to 50 or 75, 100 gallons and so on.

I know, I'm a newbie here and not a "Pro" when it comes to tanks but I really enjoy seeing all these great pictures of all the 3reef members tanks. I also don't just enjoy looking at pictures of the tanks I also love to see pictures of their set up, lights, DIY projects, or anything related to it because I'm also a visual learner.

I would never win best reef tank considering I have a FOWLR and my set up isn't anything to brag about. I don't have hi tech gadgets or expensive set up but since joining 3reef a few months ago my tank has never looked better and the healthiest it's ever been.

I personally don't look at a picture here and expect all of them to look like its straight from a TV show or magazine. I know there is algae, camera shy fish, and other things but I look past that and enjoy what I see and how they did it. That is important to almost everybody that is on this site.

I was a member of the "Dark Side" for a little while and posted just a few times but once I found this site I never looked back. I'm not knocking on them and they did help me out when I asked questions but for a newbie I felt out of place unlike here. I'm a co-owner of a famous rock band music/video trading web site and understand that the newbies are there to learn or looking for info and 90% you will never see again but the other 10% will be the oldbies of the site.. With this site I'm in the middle of 10%! ;D
