Your observations are right on. I too am tempted to move the larger Toad up but it attached itself to an immovable rock and I will have to cut it off and free it, which I may do. The mid-size Toad has been in three locations and for an experiment I put in real good flow and it responded by extending up and opening nice but no polyps. I do notice that one does show polyps at night a lot. At one time I had the large Koralia like you mentioned, in the back and facing to the front glass. The problem is the reaction of the Colt and Torch coral. When in that position, the Colt would lean over all the way to one side and the Torch would be streaming all the way to the right. Just one of those things of trying to get the flow to be advantageous for all or the majority of the coral. As you noticed, everything else is "happy" and thriving. It is just aggravating that the Toadstools aren't extending their polyps.....they are healthy but it would be nice to see them "blossom".

    Yes, tango, that is Halimeda.

Unclejed - our mission is to get at least one of those toadstools fully open with extended polyps

would moving the K nano downwards and having it pointed horizontally ( not angled down toward the toadstool) about 4 or 5 inches above the larger toady encourage it to extend ? ( I only say this because one of my leathers is being hit , buffeted by a Sieo prop 4400 and I "feel" it really enjoys it.) Im not saying point the nano at it, just suggesting pointing it over its head

as doing that should not affect the colt and frogspawn on the other side. I know neither of these 2 species appreciate flow - had a colt release itself from its rock once in a desperate attempt to find calmer water in one of my tanks.

It is certainly worth a try. I will have to see if I can slide the magnet down farther as that is the over flow it is attached to. One reason it is up that high was so it wasn't so intrusive and un-natural looking, but for an experiment, why not.

Here is another twist (clue), no button polys do well in the 55 gal. They don't die but they stay closed. I put them in the Biocube and they are huge, fully open with the "hairs" out.
