You will get that, in another thread:)

The 04 has more room than the 95 (I forgot it was not a 96)and the 98, but those 2 older ones are the same body style. Both were 6 cylinders.
We nearly got a sequoia in 04, but the same 4.7 v8 in the runner had a LOT more oomph moving that vehicle than it did in the sequoia. Now that the new 4.6 v8 has over 300hp, and a 6 speed auto instead of the 5spd in the 4runner's v8, I bet that issue will be addressed. heck, when the 5.7 came out for the redone sequoia, I knew it was taken care of but a 5.7 v8 sequoia is pretty spendy. We looked at a 5.7 sequioia last auto show. it was a loaded sr5, but right around 50k. I hope now that less people buy these and buy crossovers, that the sequoias might be less $$ now.

I can't complain on mpg in our v8 runner. It gets over 20mpg on the freeway doing 75mph with the biggest tires you can fit with no lift and no rubbing. I have used full synthetic on the 04 since it was broken in.

Another gripe about the 03-09 4runner, is the HVAC controls. While it is nice that they come std with climate control, it has a mind of its own sometimes and is counter intuitive. The redesigned sequoia had a better system, and I suppose the 2010 4runner does too.

I used to not like japanese cars. Then My fiance's 4runners changed my mind. Also, a show called "Top Gear" which is on BBC, tried to kill a "tacoma" pick up. They couldn't. I have a feeling that any gearhead would like that show, and if anyone has not seen the show, they should.

Thats a beautiful truck right there. I like it because of the Harley colors and VERY nice interior but I would personally go with this:

But if money were no object I would get an International CXT. Now that there is a pickup!

I live in Milwaukee, but don't like harleys. I won't say much beyond that.

    true... but...

my "toyota" lexus IS350 (and the F) are both RWD. They're not sports cars but sedans. Still though, yes a 350z will take me, but it's not by an embarrassing amount... and the first year 350z i can keep right up with. And if the Z driver is a poor shifter, I can take him.

But I still consider the IS the winner here... its got 4 doors and a backseat. For the Z not to be able to blow me away is a joke... IMO.

it's not apples and apples, I get that. Just saying...

If you want to make it closer to apples to apples, look at the infiniti versions of the Z. Year for year, the IS, IMO has the edge on stats.

Having said that, I'm not meaning to bash the Z or the infiniti, both are great cars IMO.

I drove a 98 civic for 8 years. It had one problem. Alternator was undersized (???) and the dealer replaced it under warranty. I still question the reason (undersized) but I do not question the results...

Dollar for dollar, my 98 civic was one of the best cars I've owned.

Those are very cool in their way. I likey. Wouldn't own one, but I do think they're cool.

I also bought a new Ranger 3.0 in 2000 and we still have it. well past 100k on it and it's never had a problem at all. That truck is one tough puppy. We keep up on maintenance and the Ford Paint sucks really bad (just weathers off the hood sooo easily compared to other vehicles i've had)... but this truck is for play not looking pretty...

P, There is a reason I was specific about my verbiage for the sports car. I am well aware of the IS and ISF;)

I don't like the VQ series v6's exhaust tone, especially on the Z cars, but the murano 3.5 sounds as bad, so does the FX3.5.

99-2000 was about the time I started hearing complaints from honda owners. The 98 you had should have been great.

If you think the ford paint quality is bad, take a look at most GM's. I hope they fixed that recently. When giant areas of paint fall off revealing grey primer, you can bet there is an issue with their primer or some surface prep.

IMHO, all cars should go 100k with no issues provided routine maintenance and tires and brakes are kept on it.
Ones that don't meet that test for me, are substandard. If it has over 200k on it with no real issues ( I allow waterpumps, radiators, hoses, obviously belts, and other stuff like that) then that is a testament to how reliable they are.

I know you were... I was just saying...

My honda, after 8 years, the paint still looked new (yes, I had it waxed and polished once a year). I think the paint needs to hold up just as well as the rest of the car (with good care of course).

The last GM car I had was a '78 camaro... the paint (original) was beautiful until some little ^&*( keyed it. So not a ton of experience w/GM paint, but I do believe you.

Complete agreement on your 100k remark there too. Modern cars have no business failing below 100k (given proper maintenance).
