When I was really young, Tinker Toys were amazing. My specialty was the Tinker Toy lawn mower. Then it evolved into legos, and those ROCKED. Sadly, the legos around today just aren't what they used to be (and they're more expensive!) I eventually loved them so much, I got into the "Pro Builder" legos. Some of those projects would take weeks to put together. I had the Harley Davidson, the Fighter Jet (still in my room), the Destroyer (still in my room), the Space Shuttle (loved that one), and the biggest of all was the 3 foot long Aircraft Carrier. That one took me a loong time. I would sit there and build for hours.

I also grew up in the days of the video game, but we never got into them until Sega Genesis. We still have a Sega. Then there was the N64, which was one of the best consoles of all time IMO, and we still have an N64. Then some gamecube games were awesome, and now there are select Xbox games I enjoy. But our main childhood plaything was exploring our neighborhood in elementary school. We live in a safe, enclosed neighborhood, so my parents didn't mind us going off into the hood and being gone for hours at a time. We probably discovered more about this neighborhood than anyone else living here

    Great thread!! 8)

A couple of the old toys here take me way back... like Stompers (I had about 20 of those), vertibird and magic rocks.

This was easily one of my favorite toys: A G.I. Joe (full-size G.I.) working Sea Wolf submarine:

I used to use it in a pond.

I also had metal German and British army men with metal tanks, jeeps and half-tracks that were very detailed and worth a fortune now. I wish I still had them. :p
