looks to be awesome, can't wait to see.

BTW, i'm newer to the hobby, when you say "large skimmer", what are you talking? how much water are you moving thru that thing or what is that skimmer rated at?

My tank, with all it's DI stuff,
Has a DI sump with no true fuge.

1st compartment, has a revese durso intake, my SC150 skimmer, and a MJ900 running my UV filter and empties into my new DIY phosguard reactor.

That spills, some pumps into the next part, a massive chaeto basket area.

And past the basket strainer is my DIY ATO hooked to my RO/DI; and the bottle for the DIY Phasguard reactor, and of course my Marineland 5500 Return pump.

    NO refugium.

My sump, after over 10 months, does have some algae, small sponges, etc.
I have a Chocolate Chip Sea Star in there tidying up!

Your gonna have a nice build, nice plans you have.

I was planning on doing something that was "large" by design, not nescissarily by skimmer power. Something like the design of the BK mini series

I'm trying to figure out the fish list, I really want the blueline but do you think the tank is too small?

A blueline trigger? It's a beautiful fish, but IMO the tank is just too small for it.

Sounds like a great build! I agree with not using a fuge. There really is no point with bacterial export. I can't grow traditional macros in my set up, the tank I set up to be a fuge quickly got a better light and became a frag tank instead lol.

Yeah, I still wouldn't suggest it.
