Be careful using fishing line for that. It will not show signs of wear before it breaks.

Thanks for the heads up, I ran my hand along it to check for any sort of chafing and stretching and added a piece of cable so if one fails the cable will hopefully keep it from taking a swim.

Also, a LFS near me sent me a picture of a masked swallowtail they have in stock. Needless to say its on hold and we shall check it out tomorrow.

My dream is coming truw ;D

Id be scared to DEATH using fishline to hang anything over my tank.

You can never tie them securely for a long period of time under stress, coming from an avid fisherman.. its just not made for that.

Huh, I use 80# mono for all my trolling rigs and I've never had it snap under load.

He is talking about the knots untying, im talking about age making the line brittle. Neither of which you can diagnose before failure.

I didn't use knots, I used padded squeeze clampy things I use in my trolling rigs. I guess I'll move over to cabling soon

You should get a Watanabei or Semifasciatus for your new tank, not only are they deepwater and rarish, but mine is super alert and follows you around the room alot like some tangs will. I love my Watanabe.

    ...and very pricey
