how do you like your ATI 6 bulb? I have found one used and am seriously considering it, it's just a little more money than I want to spend.

 

Fantastic scape Travis, you two have done yourselves proud. Congrats on everything making it through the move. Set up looks sweet.

 

I love my 6 bulb fixture. Its s little overpowered though. I have to keep it suspended above my tank about 15".

I knew that they were the strongest out there with the high quality reflectors and ballasts, but wow, that is something you don't hear often. It's too bright, hahaha. Given the fact that you have to suspend it, I guess lowering and raising is not really an issue, but all the excess light in the room probably isnt that great.

 

Yeah they are pretty intense!! To beat out the excess light I actually made a drape for my fixture to focus the light downward. It works great, I had to spend like $20 at a fabric store for a thick black fabric and like $9 at a hardware store for some industrial strength velcro. Just be sure if you make a drape for your ATI, don't block off the cooling exhaust.

 

Genius!! I'm having problems too with excess light on my 6 bulb fixture and I think this just might solve the problem! Thanks for the tip!
