    im buying a reef ready 150 gal tank tomorrow with custom stand for a 100 bucks! what a steal! anyways i wanna do a big switch over but i wanna skip the cycle. ive seen it done, but how do i do it? I wanna add new substrate is its possible? can anyone tell me my options? ive GOT TONS OF LIVE ROCK. I just took some out and put in a seperate container with a pump because i wanted to aquascape. And im treating some algae probs i had. thanks in advance

    ive also got a 70 gal sump ive been waiting to install under my current tank. with a skimmer rated up to 175 gal

    All the rock and as much old water as you can will be a big help.
    All new substrate still might start the cycle over though. It's hard to say.
    At the very least you can expect some algae on the sand eventually for a while.

    i think im gonna hit some kinda cycle period regardless. currently 55 gals, adding 100 gals to it is just to much! plus another 30-40 gals for the sump. i duno. maybe waiting out a cycle would be best. but i cant afford to use my current 55 as a hotel, while waiting for the new one to cycle.. Then again i cant afford to lose my livestock by bieng impatient and just tossing em' into a new tank... decisions decisions..
