Hi all, just would like to know if there is anything special about transfering my life rock from my 150 gal tank to my new 244 gal? Or just pick and drop from one to the other without anything?

My life rock did have alot of green alge, but now I put phosphate remover in my tank for the past good month and it is all gone exept the rock are some what greenish color :)

In my new tank I put phosphate from the begining so that i won't do the same mistake... and I added a UV too....

If you want to see some pics of my new tank and what kind of things I used then go to the Protein Skimmers forums under AquaC EV-240 or ETSS 600 XR / ETSS 800 XR thread :)

you may want to shake your rock off in a bucket or the old tank, it can have alot of detritus.

also becareful your creatures to get stuck in the rock. ive had a couple that would hide in my rocks, impossible to remove

Ok, so like I thought... just shake them a bet in the old tank or bucket then place them in the new one :)

    Thanks....

Have a tub of water handy so you can shake all the sand and detritus off so it doesn't cloud up the new tank as much. Get a couple sheets of eggcrate from home depot and cut them to fit the bottom of your new tank. This will protect the bottom against an avalanche. Good luck!
