Transferring LR

    I just started cycling a 55 gallon 3 days ago with 30 lbs base rock and i want to transfer the LR from my 40 gallon. There is about 40-45 lbs of LR in that tank. My problem is I have a spotted mandarin in the 40 gallon tank and if I remove the LR I will most likely be removing a lot of the pods he eats to live on. So how should I go about doing this. If I wait wont I just prolong the cycle if I add LR at the end of the cycle?

    you should soak the new live rock you're getting for the new tank in the 40 gallon tank for awhile.
