    Hi,

So today I have been hunting around on used websites and I found a decently priced tank but there is a catch, he has fish in the tank.

I am assuming to proper course of action would be to just to donate the fish to a fish store immediately before moving the tank.

If possible I would take on the fish but I cannot for the life of me find a way of taking 75G of water from two houses 1 hour apart.

    Any possibilities?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Take as much water as you can.

Get a styrofoam cooler and pack them in that, in plastic bags with room for air. Do a slower acclimation than usual.

What is the temperature where you live?

You really don't need the old water. There is not much bacterial life in the water column they live on surfaces (the rock, substrate, etc.). So if you take buckets to bring everything home, just keep enough water to keep everything wet (this will turn out to be quite a bit) and have new water at home. Take out the rock and keep it in pails of water, same for livestock. If it's along distance you may need an airstone and heater for the fish. Try to not disturb the sand, and lay a wet towel on it to keep it moist and from shifting during the move. It's a chore, but it is possible to move everything and keep this fish happy. I have moved 2 tanks, both without a loss, but you should expect that you may lose some stock, however you may not.

Well it is the same concept as cichlids or any other tank, this is the first time with salt water and thus I am not sure what to expect. - I will need an RO / DI and start producing water before hand.
