do you want to get rid of the amphipods or just move them to your 55 gallon?

they make worm traps, but I don't know if they work with amphipods

Why would you want to remove them, I was under the impression that they were detritavores that helped your system, are you sure they are actually amphipods and not something else?

Just put a sponge near them and they will use it as a home, leave it for a day and the sponge should be full of them. Then just drop the sponge in the sump. If you want to remove them completely then I do have to say "why would you want to do that"?

I don't want to get rid of them all but like anything theres a point when they take over the tank its time to get rid of some. It's to the point now that they cover all the glass and seeing thousands of little white bugs crawling on the glass is not very appealing to me anyway, I'll see if I can get a picture, I've had them before but never to this extreme. They are all over the bottom but there harder to see there because of the crushed coral.I have them in my 55
gal but the wrasse keeps them in check.
    thanks for the suggestions.

If you put a fish in there, the population will go down dramatically ;)

i never thought about a sponge... it seems like you would need to soak it in something before hand to get a "food" flavor that the pods would be attracted to... oh, and, since (in my experience) amphipods are nocturnal, it seems like you should put the sponge in the night before, or maybe leave it for 2 days, just to make sure its "really" full of them...
