I've been having issues with quite a bit of trash floating around in the display tank. The return splits into two, one on the sump side and the other to the refugium. The sump side has foam to filter and eliminate any micro bubbles to the return (also catching much of the trash and detrius). I currently have nothing on the refugium side. My assumption is because I'm not using any type of filteration, sock, etc., much of the trash that could or should be filtered within the sump and back into the return, is not. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks.

Do you have a sock on the the non refugium side. That foam filter wont catch everything.

I have no socks in use. I've not found a good video on how to mount one.

The socks are easy to rig up. All I did is put it over the intake pipe to my sump, nothing fancy. I would recomend you buy 4 for your setup, that way you can use 2 while the dirty ones are being washed (I just run mine threw the washer *** NO SOAP**).

What do you mean by trash? Is there a ruffles potato chip bag floating around in there?

Socks work well, but you need to stay on top of switching them out.

Floaters!! Whirling around in my water. My 40 breeder has a Fluval on it that keeps the water crystal clear.
