Tree coral

The guy that fragged it for me - he called it a Kenya Tree, but I don't think that is right.

I will get another pic of it when my camera finishes charging. I had to move it.

It is really slimy. It is not 'hard' - maybe a disgusting weenie feeling? Ton o slime.

The 'mother' to this tree had a tall, thick trunk with all the branches at the top. This piece is one of those branches. It was tan and ugly in his tank with no actinic lights. It is green and pretty in my tank with actinic lights.

hmm...

the mother of this coral did look similar to that... the branches in your pic seem a lot more spread out than his did, but that might have just been the particular coral... your colors seem way different - does that vary?

 

some are a little more maroonish but most i've seen are thise color. I will post a pic of my frags

what is the differnece between colt coral and kenya tree

 

The difference between a Colt and a Kenyon Tree coral is its location and display of sclerites for the most part.

 

Not sure what that is - I just picked up a frag that looks similar, only a bit whiter with green polyps. Neat looking though, hope it does well in my tank.

 

I moved it and used a sword pick to plant it on the ground.
