Ya thats what ive been thinking....from what ive been reading it seems like the humu causes more problems than the clown. I mean everywhere i look it seems that the humu snaps early.

It's kinda like getting a dog. People can overgeneralize one type, but each has their own personality. Right now my Picasso has been successfully swimming with a foxface, flame angel, many hermits and even a cleaner shimp for the past 3 months. The only thing I can't put in is snails, he loves his snails. The only ones that have survived are my mexican turbos.

I purchased the Huma and cleaner shimp together at the LFS after they told me "The Huma will see the shrimp as beneficial and not attack it." I know better now, but don't have the receipt and they don't accept trades for store credit. I didn't know any better then, but the cleaner hasn't turned into a $20 snack yet.

The Huma is just hitting the 3" mark, so I will soon see if it's true what they say. It's a terror at 3+ inches. I hope not, as it's my favorite fish, but if it screws with anything it will be going straight to my friends aggressive tank.

ya i mean a humu would be great but its the fact that at 3" plus it decides it wants its own tank where from what ive read the clown really isnt like that but still has that chance to snap. Also i will be keeping it with some other big fish instead of more of peacefull tank mates so i guess its all a toss up...i just want to make sure that i can house the clown trigger and also peoples opinions on which would work out the best.

if i chose to do a humu trigger would it be better if i got it bigger than 4" so it isnt at that point anymore where it goes crazy or will it not make a difference?

I was just at my LFS today, and they had 2 3"+ Humu triggers in tanks with other fish, not attacking. One was in a pretty small tank, the other was in a big tank.

out of those 3, I'd get a Huma their probably the most passive of those but I'm going to be getting a blue throat male most likely

i just dont know to be honest i mean the humus can and do get mean around 3-5 inches i guess and clowns may get too big (anyone know) and are mean but willing to take the risk because it is such a cool fish and niger can get big but is more docile

I have always seemed to have good luck with Nigers. I even kept one with a cleaner shrimp and he never touched him. Also, if you got some cash you can look into crosshatch trigers. They are pretty sweet too.
