Would a trigger work in a reef environment? I realize pretty much every invert is in trouble. If your not keeping SPS would it work?

    1,000,000th POST ON 3REEF!

Why would SPS be a problem? Reef-safe also implies invert safe, which is the main issue with triggers. I however have a blue throught trigger and have not had a single problem.

I always told the would nip at them. Right, I was meaning eating corals or anything like that. Sorry for the confusion.

Very cool. I think that will be my next fish! ;D Well after I get my Jenny a Forest. ;) And when I have a bigger tank of course.

Never heard of a trigger going for corals although you never know ::)
Only the Xanthichthys specie are considered reef safe.

I had a pink tail and a niger trigger in a 150 mixed reef for over six months with no problems. They loved to chase each other around and even let my cleaner shrimp climb all over them. Then one day came home from work to find my pinktail bitting pieces of my orange monti cap off.It was not eating it but I guess he felt it needed to be fragged. He removed about a 6x6 section for me one bite at a time.I would do it again in a heart beat.

I know at work there are two or three super small ones, these guys are between 1/2" to 1". Are they slow growers?
