In the wild, the Molly is found in environments influenced by tidal waves. The environment created by a tropical flood or stream emptying into the sea is a typical Molly habitat. This means that your Molly will do much better if you keep it in a brackish aquarium. Mollies are capable of surviving in a fresh water aquarium as well, but will be more vulnerable to diseases.

Mainly inhabits the mouths of rivers emptying into the Pacific Ocean, sometimes travelling many miles inland. It's usually found in brackish conditions, but can also withstand full marine and to a lesser extent, freshwater.

I used mollies to cycle my tank. Up 4 months have 8 of the original 10 and have three babies all in 1.025 water and happy as a clam::)::)::)
not sure they breed fast enough to be feeders though.

Fishneedit.com Has 150W Metal halide fixtures for $140. It includes the ballast, pendant, and bulb, everything u need. And a hanging kit. Its currently what I used and pretty nice. Except i upgraded my stock 10k bulb to a pheonix 14k. Either upgrade the bulb or get a 14k stock or 20k. You can choose when you purchase the light. Goodluck!
