Yeah Princess hid for quite a while too. And she's still pretty shy. She rarely, if ever leaves the rock work. We fed this guy 2 small krill today and he came flying out of the rocks to grab them Not shy at all. He's been working on his den after he explored a bit. So now he's got a burrow under the rock in the very back of the pile. I'll try to put some small rubble pieces in there tomorrow so he can perfect his hut

He is definitely not a shy mantis. I'm amazed how this is only his first day in our tank (acclimated this morning) and he's already being this active and hungry!

 

He's just amazing - still not named, but amazing! He's been excavating all day long, sand flying everywhere. I've seen him come all the way out of the rock work a few times, but he darts right back in - he's still a little shy there. Fascinating little guy!

 

We're going to try and get a video of him eating this evening. Watching him come out for a piece of krill is definitely a sight to see
