    Welcome to 3reef, you won't be sorry you took the plunge.

    If you are going to get a heater make sure it is Titanium. Glass heaters can break then short out and guess what happens to your livestock when this happen.....soup!

    Do your research and TAKE IT SLOW. Read Omards signature...it is so true.

    Hey pokey

    To avoid one of your first possilbe mishaps...if this was a FW tank previously, make sure you do a Cu (copper) test after filling with water and letting it sit for couple of days.

    Unless you know for absolute certain it has never been exposed to a Cu treatment of some kind or other.

    Better to find out early, then waiting and seeing all of your new crabs, snails, corals die and wondering why.

    If there is, it is not a show-stopper, you can get rid of it, but can take some time.

    Or you can keep a fish only tank, and never have to worry about ICk. ;)

    re, keeping fresh water fish in past...
    Come on MDeth...you must have had a golfish in a bowl at some time in your life! --- If not, you are the 1% ;D
