Trouble with AMG Skimmer

    I have this in-sump skimmer and its been giving me a problem since I got it. When i clean it and put it back in and turn it on it starts skimming like crazy but within a day it will slow to pretty much a stop.

    I noticed that if I cut the air off to the ventury and turn it back on it will start to work again but the same thing, off within a day. This made me think that water level in the sump has something to do with it so i began topping off the tank several times over the course of the day (sump level drops between 1 and 3 inches a day). Topping off usually works but I can't imagene people living with this problem.

    Has anyone else dealt with this type of problem? Is it me? The skimmer? the sump? Anyone know how to correct it?
