I purchased a retrofit LED kit for my BC 14. its the kit from proledsupply.com. I have a dim4 controller and whenever i get everything wired up the LEDs flicker and when using the pots they dim some, but not what i would call correct dimming, and continue flickering. Also the dim4 doesnt seem to affect it. When I bypass the controller and pots they work fine at full strength, but that is too bright for my corals. anyone have an idea?

Sounds like maybe they are not getting enough current to stay on. When you are hooking everything up, you have to set your max current on the driver. Usually they are already at the max, but sometimes that is higher than your LEDs will be rated for.

So say the driver can support a max a max current of 2300 mA and your LEDs 1500 mA, you have to adjust the driver to max out at 1500.

When connecting your pot, connect them so they are turned up to the max. The driver will be outputting the max current you set previously automatically and now the pot will have that maximum current be its highest output setting. So then when you dim the pot, it is lowering the current from the driver.
