Doesn't sound like Dr. Fosters & Smith that is the problem. Sounds like they are being pretty helpful. What brand lights are you buying?

Sorry you're having bad luck with the light fixtures but I agree, the vendor doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the fixtures you're buying. There is probably the same potential for problems buying the same lights at any reputable dealer (and DFS is pretty reputable I think).

You could try www.marinedepot.com or www.premiumaquatics.com though if you really want to try another site.

I'm no expert but could it be a electricity problem, maybe Reefsparky or Tangster can comment on the possibility of electrical problems (I believe they both have professional experience in this area)

Hate to hear these sorts of things. I don't know if Maristar makes a fixture you can use. It would be really expensive, but Sunlight Supply is a good company. Check out reefgeek.com

Feel for ya, I had issues as well. Screwtape is correct. Icouldn't blame the vendor, just me for trying to save a few bucks.

After my issues, I am now happy with the unit I have.

    Good Luck
