    dude thats cool! Glad its working out for you! like i said it's all about personal opinion in this hobby! i'm glad its working out for ya and a little jealous!;)

    the heater thing is just from a few issues that have happened on here lately! It's definitely not necessary, but is def a good idea! There is a good chance you're gonna have to set up a hospital tank in the future! you should also look into a QT tank! The extra heater is nice to have for both! plus thermometers mess up! An extra $2 can save your livestock! like i said, not an attack! I'm glad all is working out for you! just trying to give ya an idea to be prepped for! on top of that, maybe buy a cheap air pump and stone! its just some insurance for a tank crash! But def get the DI unit!

    happy reefing!

    cool man! you're set on lights and glad the skimmer is working for ya! i'd be prepped every 6-12 months for a bulb replacement thought! If you're gonna stick with low light stuff it shouldn't matter much! But when bulbs get old they start to grow algae!

    But heaters fail! so i'd buy that before the UV! once again, just my opinion! this hobby is full of them! ya just gotta read thru them and make up your own mind!

    Yes this is so true. I am thinking of getting like a 10 or 20 gallon for a quarantine tank. Which would you recommend Cosmo? Do you put any live sand in the quarantine or live rock or just straight plain clean glass bottom?

    Oh and I got the DI add on system ordered. I ended up getting this one;
    Single DI Canister - English
    from BRS of course! Thanks for that head up! ;D

    Good deal! Bigger is usually always better so prob the 20! But if ya get the 10 you use less medicine, but if ya have to remove your fish for some reason, the 10 will prob be too small!

    And no substrate or rocks, it soaks up the medicine and can harbor diseases, plus if you don't keep it running, you'll have to cycle it everytime you need it! so go bare bottom and put some cups/pvc pipe etc in there for the fish to hide in!

    Hey guys,
    I got some bad news. 24 hrs after finishing the meds we did a 20% water change. Everything was fine I thought. Then, I woke up the other day and my Flame Angel (the one that was showing signs of ICH) was dead. I found him being eaten by the Sally Light Foot. Though I really dont think the Sally Light Foot caused the death, I just think she found him and was gonna have a snack. The Flame Angel was looking great though right after the meds. All the ICH had gone away :confused:! All my other fish have been doing great though. The Mandarin Goby is looking fatter so that is good, and my Maroon Clown is always inside of his Anemone and they both look great!

    Day before yesterday we baught another Angel this time we baught a Keyhole Angel. This fish is mostly Black in color. After about 12 hrs he started showing signs of what looked like ICH again. Lots of little white dots all over him. This time I didnt re-treat since the med from the first treatment should still be in the tank a little. Anyways I woke up this morning and he is dead too! Just floating around.....:(

    All my other fish, invertebrates, and corals are looking great. No problems. I figured if I was gonna have trouble with a fish it would be my Mandarin Goby not Angels. Our house has Well water, but I use a RO/DI unit. The paramaters are fine also. Nitrate is about 20-30ppm that is the only thing that is showing a little high. I didnt think that would harm them. Especially if the corals, and inverts are growing and looking great!

    I wonder what is happening? I notice the other day my powerhead was acting a little weird. It would stutter a little then shoot out all this "white Snow" looking crap?? I didnt know if it was salt, hard water, or what? It made my whole tank look like it was snowing though! Like little white granuals about the size of salt grains... This also looks like what was all over the skin of my angel :cry:. The tank cleared up though after a bit and the powerhead has turned back to normal. Could this have somthing to do with my angels dieing?

    Hey guys its been a while since my last update but I got a couple things going on that I cant seem to figure out.

    We have never been able to get rid of our green algae issue. We baught a Phosphate Reactor about 2 months ago and this isnt seeming to help at all. Our API test shows 0 Phosphate too. My lights are on a 10 hour light cycle. Bulbs should still be good.

    We are running a 55 gallon, R/O water, 4x T5 lights (10hrs light), Protien Skimmer, Phosphate Reactor with (Fluval Phosphate Remover), 2 powerheads, 2 Gallon Refuigium with a "Deep Sand Bed" live rock and a variety of Macro Algae in it.

    What do you guys think the deal is? Oh, the Reef itself is about a year old now. :angry:
