    OK.. when I bought these guys I thought they were true percs. Then I started thinking a month later perhaps false.. Now I'm not sure.. Please help me out.. Thanks:p

    they can look the exact same. the only diff is a true perc will have 2 more spines on its dorsal fin than a false. i forget the number. i think it may be 9 for a false 11 for a true, but thats more or less a guess.

    Looks like a true to me also. Spines and eye color are ways to tell, but it is not 100%. Behavior, however, is a giveaway. True percs will swim at the top of the tank. False percs will stay in the middle.

    False. Way too much black for a true. Spinal fin count is not 100% reliable.
