I have been trying to bulid a sump for a few days now. I have a 20 gal laying around and I was going to use it. I have a 125 DT and was needing a few answers.

    1) Do I need a pump for the over flow box (eshopps)?
    2) Do I need a bigger sump tank than 20 gal?
    3) Is there anywhere to order baffles online? I have not idea how to cut glass.

Thats all I can think of for now. I'm sure there will be more to this before its over with.

I have a 125 dt as well. Imo a 20 gallon is way too small. When I first started I had a 30 gallon but soon added to the 30 gallon and made a 50 gallon sump. Moral of the story? While your still in the build process go with the biggest sump you can afford/fit.

Your overflow box runs on gravity and a syphone so you dont need a pump to run the box per say. However, you WILL need a pump in your sump to pump the water back up to the dt.

Forget glass just go to a hardware store and buy some arcrylic plexiglass. Easy to cut. Make sure you use aquarium safe silicone when you glue the baffles into your sump. Hope this helps.

Don't use acrylic with glass. It does not bond right.

Open the yellow pages to any glass shop in town and they will cut you some. You only need to dress the tops.
