its a used 200 gallon with 2 big holes drilled in the back about 8 inches from the top. I have the bulkheads for the holes. I picked up the pvc and elbows, cut it to length and put some notches in the top. I am going to put a thin layer of fiber floss over the top of the pvc held on with plastic zip ties. So far so good?
Now in the back the 2 holes will be piped down to my sump. I havent figured out my sump yet, but Hung (from sea of marvels where I bought this used tank) said I should use 2 pumps to move the water back to my tank to keep it moving faster. The pumps are Rio 1400's. I was going to pick up a 40 gallon tank for a sump but once I section a area off for the skimmer, another area off for a refugium (for that chateo stuff or however you spell it) then the last chamber for my pumps, that dont leave much room for water to fill if the power goes out. I had one idea to have one of my overflows go to a sump and even though I will not be using bio balls I could have my other one go to a wet/dry filter I wouldnt be using otherwise. This should be sure to give me enough overflow protection. What do you think?

You're not going to like having the fiber over your pipes. Once it gets a little dirty, it will be dumping DOCs into your water and causing nitrate problems. You'll do better with vent caps, or even better yet, an overflow box.

One thought that came to mind with the double-sump idea is that you could use the entire wet/dry box for the fuge, and then just have 2 compartments in the 40g (or vice versa). That would also allow for further expansion with reactors, etc later should you decide to add them to your system. That's just my idea though, but either way I see no problem with using both. :)
