They may have some kind of internal heat sink, but the fans still appear to draw air in to the housing. They are much better than the old version, so probably worth a look.

I bought 4 Boost led par 38 lamps. My LPS are absolutely thriving. I have a 55 gal. and each lamp covers a 12" x 12" area. 2 lamps have 4 royal blue and one white and 2 have 2 soft white and 3 royal blue.

Can't help noticing that you always seems to be critical of the EVO and then promoting the Apollo LED, don't care really... just sayin.

i have rec the Evo for a look several times. in checking into the fixtures it seems the A is better made. the evo 150 is great for a 36" long tank.
depends on the application. check them all out. :)

How do u like them? Was it easy to get the color you want? I will mostly likely go with 4 of these over my 65g. Looking at buying 40 degree optics.

The guy at Boost was exceptional and answered all my questions right away, personally. I mainly asked his suggestions for what I had and wanted to do. Getting the colors I wanted was a snap. I trusted him because a guy that used to be on here alot seemed always right and his setup was on Boost's site. His name was Omarion or something and his 4 nano cube is with these lamps. They have regular sales (or did). I would think with a 65 gal you might need 5 lamps though. He wants a pic of my tank which I haven't done yet. Anyway, I couldn't be happier. I will try to put in a pic tonight here.

    Apollo LEDs

I have two 12k Apollo Leds and can tell you they are really nice and very well built. Each unit has two heat sinks, three fans and 60 degree optics. Picking LEDs to buy for my 300 to go along with my MHs was not easy with all the statements being made by sellers and no long term information regarding coral growth. After several months of research i picked Apollo good price and quality built. He has videos on his site showing par readings with just one light on around 230 to 250 center of tank in 24" of water. There is lots of nice looking leds on the market it does make for a not easy choice.

Good luck with the ones you pick!

Apollo of evoled to me are all the same box units from china. You might as well go on aliexpress.com and search aquarium led lights. They've got these Wholesale 120W New led Aquarium Lighting which is basically what an evoled is and they also sell a bunch in 2watt versions also.

In all fairness, if you read through all of pmrossetti1s posts, he can be quite fair and logical. Now if he'd just put more details into individual posts so we don't need to read through them all :p
