I am going to try and raise my 8.5 Kh to around 11 or 12. Now I know you cannot add it directly and to mix it into RO/DI water. I also know you want to not raise it more than 1.0 per 24 hours right?

So I was thinking of just mixing the Seachem Reef Builder in with my top off water I put in. That way it is going in slower and also raising it slowly.

Is this a good idea? If not how would you suggest I use this product?

Excellent plan that is how I do it. Still add it slowly to the sump or tank in a high flow area.

    Claic - agreed with 2 in 10

a great way to do it , is with top up, RODI

Drip it in rather than pour it in is better as it avoids to much concentration in 1 location at 1 time

I had a rather simple but effective method when I started dosing
500ml plastic bottle, hole in the cap, airline used as syphon and I tied a knot/ loop in the air line, which I loosened in order to get syphon started and then pulled tight to restrict flow to a couple of drops per second
it took hours to empty the contents of the bottle into the tank

also make these additions at night, as Reef builder can increase PH , so its best done, when lights are off and PH would be declining

Great idea! I have tried many times to do it and this seems to be the best idea.

Thanks Steve and 2n10. About to start my SPS journey come tuesday so I want all my parameters JUST right. lol

Calcium being a little over 500 will not hurt the SPS will it?
