My Tube Anemone was fine this morning...all pink and wavy. Noticed at Noon that it was gone. As in totally disappeared. Any ideas on what is going on with this??:confused:

Ok, this may seem like a silly question, but is it in the tube?

Yes it is in the tube. They will get "spooked" from time to time and retract completely into the tube. It is fine. It will be back out once the intruder has left. If it continues to stay retracted, try changing your flow to a slow type undertow for it...they don't like really heavy flow.

Some of them won't come out during day light as well. They are non photo, so it may prefer to fed at night and hide during the day.

Mine has almost switched to more nocturnal lately. It comes out during the day but goes in and out, but if i come down during the night & hit the moonlight it is easily inches longer than during the day. It still looks great either time, so noo worries.

Nothing was visible...nada when I looked at noon. Now just a few minutes before this post...it is back. I thought I would see the tube as you indicated in your question, but that was completely gone as well.

Guess it is common for it to disappear completely like that, huh? I'm learning so don't lose faith due to my newbieness.

Sometimes people get feather dusters and tube anemones mixed up. A feather duster will lose it's crown.

Glad it was something with a good out come.
