I have had this chalice frag for a while now but had the base a little deeper in the substrate and never noticed the tube thing. The pic is blurry but in essence it has an opening at either end and on the inside of each end it had white stripes. The color is accurate and it is somewhat hard to the touch.
    Thanks,
    John

Pretty tough with being blurry, but I would guess a tunicate also.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
And it looks like a tunicate to me as well.

Do you ever see any string, threads coming out of this tube?

Open on both ends, kinda hard, I'd +1 on the tunicate.

Haven't seen any string coming from it.
