Tunnel aptasia?

    Hey everyone,

    Just found these on one of my rocks and was wondering if anyone can id em. They pop in and out from these worm like tunnels that are part of the live rock? I don't think they're harmful, but wanted to make sure :confused:

    They're the red things on the top right side of the hermit crab

    looks like a feather duster worm, if so they are completely harmless filter feeders.

    by the way that red is a cool color, I have a couple dozen but I just have the common white.

    That's a relief! Thanks for id'ing it for me :) Although I would love to have some white dusters aswell, these little guys do add a nice characteristic to my tank. Maybe I should check my lfs for some white ones. Do you guys know if you can mix different types?

    Absolutely. You can put as many varieties as you can find into your tank.

    That's awesome! Turns out, as I was inspecting my tank for about an hour lastnight, I saw a pale whitish one heh I'll try to take a pic ( hard cuz it is in the middle of the tank T.T)

    I've seen larger ones marketed as "Christmas" feather dusters in blue and red
