Hi - i'm looking for any help/ideas. I've had an Osmolator (Tunze 5017) working great for exactly 24 months in my system. It just failed - the optical sensor is not detecting the water level anymore. It thinks it's submerged when its not, so the tank is running dry and i have to top it off myself. I've cleaned the sensor with vinegar, but it hasn't helped. Of course, the warranty on the Tunze is 24 months. I've emailed them, but I'm wondering if anyone has had this trouble or knows how to make it work again?

I hate to hear that since I use one of those guys too. Did the backup sensor fail too?

That is odd. I had to clean mine very rarely but overall it was bulletproof. I take it you emailed Roger? He will take care of you. Did you check the controller end too?

Thanks guys. The backup overfill sensor works fine. The connection of the ir sensor to the controller board is clean and intact. I emailed tunze USA from the website. I'll give them a day to get back and then contact Roger if I don't hear anything. Thanks for the help.

Just to close the loop - Roger at Tunze fixed the failed optical sensor for 30 bucks. All is well again!
