About to take the plunge and order one of these top off systems..

My water level in the sump fluctuates a decent amount in a span of 2 days and I figure this will be the best solution to solve the salinity / water level swings...

Oh man this tank his starting to hit the wallet :-/

    Oh well...

Once I get this bad boy in, I will order my new skimmer...at this point the water level should be constant so I won't have to worry about the skimmer going nuts, also tank is still cycling... Just started to see Nitrites! ;D

I use the same ATO. You wont be disappointed. The extra money for the eye is worth the peace of mind.

Thanks, def good to know people have nothing but positive reviews.

Plus I get my Spectrapure RO/DI unit coming in a few days so I will have fresh batches of RODI water as opposed to the tap I've been using...

You might also consider the Spectrapure UPLC-II ATO.
Its what I have been using for 5 years now and I believe it is superior to the Tunze at about the same cost. Things like the built in persitaltic pump with 10 flow adjustements and the digital level sensor being infinitely adjustable between 1/10" and 4" are nice features along with a simple two button keypad and led indicator lights make it simple to set up.

I'm keeping my cheap and simple. I have a float ($20) that I will gravity feed from a storage bin. You can also use a small $15 pump from a bucket/jug. Just something to consider.

But when that float fails from a snail or salt creep its not fun.

I'm not sure how it would fail from either of those, but nothing significant would happen if it did.

And yet they skimped and went with suction cups, big disadvantage. But your always pushing spectrapure products...

I tested that unit out and hated those cups. I mentioned this to them. I hope they put magnets on it.

Cheers NYG. The Tunze's are great. I have two in the house waiting for the next big tank.
