Well i finally found the skimmer that fit perfectly into my sump and its doing a awesome job. in less than a weeks time my nuisance algae is almost gone. its just dieing where it sits. i also started to use the brightwell products Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter7 and the Brightwell Reef bio fuel with the add of the new skimmer. that could be why changes are happening so fast. but i do need to get a phosphate's test kit, after what i learned about phosphates recently.
    just wanted to share :)

Which skimmer? I've had a 9002 in the sump of my 30g for about 8 months and have been very happy with it.

yes thats the one i have the 9002. quiet as a mouse too :) i have a 35 gallon tank with a 25 gallon sump/refugium that holds about 10 gallons in water steady 8 inches of water in the skimmer section of the sump . when i had my 58 gallon i had the 9005 on it. tunze makes a awesome running skimmer. i do have to say i feel their casing needs a bit of work though.

I've also been very happy with MB7/BioFuel so far. I've been dosing for a couple months now and cyano and GHA have disappeared. Still have a bit of bubble algae I can't seem to get rid of, even though the Hannah Photometer says 0 phosphate and Salifert tests say 0 nitrates ::)

Mostly SPS. Nothing very big though. Still growing out a lot of frags and mini colonies. One 2.5" Maxima and a 5" Derasa. Couple chalices and softies on the bottom.

I would like to get a hold of a couple stir plates and use two extra dosers I have laying around to auto stir/dose the two. I don't use much per day so it's hard to justify. I stopped running GFO in my dual reactor and now run carbon in both chambers. Between the GAC and MB7 the water looks very clear.

i know what you mean about the tank being crystal clear, mine is the same way, it looked clear before the skimmer... but now its really clear. well when the green wrasse isnt throwing the sand all over.... not sure why he is doing that. he dives into it and throws it all over. i know the green wrasse gets to large for my tank :( thats what i get for listening to someone at the LFS and not going home to do my own research, i should have known better...... uuurrrggghh.
dont like parting with fish. and would not have bought him if i knew he would get so large. :( i didnt take him right back. because i really like that little fish. its so friendly. was like that right from day one.

i like to run chemi pure in my tank i had it in my sock but didnt feel that was a good idea.... so right now its just laying over the sponge of the pump that feeds the tank. i want to find a better way to add this. might have to look into a reactor of some sort. any ideas?

Ive been using the MB7 and the Reef Bio in my new tank from day one and I haven't had a bloom yet and all numbers are zero. Do you cut your skimmer off when you put in the MB7? I don't when i dose with the bio fuel.

I don't. I also usually end up dosing the MB7 and BioFuel near the same as well without any problems.

no i just let the skimmer keep running. did you notice its says do not use the bio fuel without a skimmer in tact. i bought it before i bought the skimmer than read that on the side, so just waited to use it
