Is it normal for turbo snail for no noticeable reason to stop grazing and start snapping there shell at the surface their on. I t makes a audible clicking noise. There is no predator in the tank just snails and LR. The Astrea snail doesn't do it. Is this normal behavior of Turbos?

Not sure, as I haven't experienced anything like that with my snails.  I wouldn't be too alarmed though.

I hear them do that. Doesn't seem dangerous though.

My turobs and astreas do this from time to time and I'm guessing that it's a reaction to an irritation of some sort.

The snail in question died. I only had it for 4 days so I guess it was sick to being with. The rest of the snails are fine. On a plus side I found out my tank is cycled. No ammonia or nitire spikes just some extra nitrate.

Great news on the cycle. Now after the tank is sable for 4 to 6 weeks you can add fish slowly. No more than one medium or two small fish per month.
