We bought a Mexican Turbo snail a few weeks ago and he is having problems sticking to the glass. It seems to be getting worse. He just falls off the glass and we have to pick him up and put him on the glass.

It seems to happen when he tries to eat. I feel really bad for him.

Oh and he can't move on sand, he just gets sand on him and he rolls around.

Do you guys know what's going on with him?

What are your nitrates? When they are elevated I have seen snails having a hard time keeping themselves on the glass or rocks.
I would test those levels as well as SG.

Well the thing is that he is the only one having this problem LOL, We have several other snails that we bought from the same tank at the same time and they are doing just fine with staying on the glass, rocks, and even sand.

The nitrates normally stay pretty high... even after water changes. They are 80 atm. The lowest we have gotten them is around 60.

we feed 2 cubes of blood worms a day. Not much considering everything is eaten. We do have a skimmer, but I don't think it works very well.

Yes I believe it is just a 'special' snail

Two cubes a day? What live stock are you feeding it to?

Whether it be your 75 reef or 125 fowlr, 2 cubes a day is a very large amount of food to be feeding- even if it's all being eaten.

I have a 90 gallon, moderately stocked, and only feed 1 cube of mysis every second day- the fish definitely won't starve. But if your just assuming that they're always hungry because they will eat everything you put in- it's a misconception. Fish, out of primal instincts, will eat anything they can- not because they're hungry, but because they never know when their next meal will be. So as long as YOU know your going to be feeding them every second day, you can feel confident knowing that they'll be fine.

I initially fed my fish twice a day until being told to do otherwise on 3 reef. It was hard at first to do otherwise. The fish always seemed to be begging. I now feed a small amount once a day because one of my fish is trying to recover from "hole-in-the-head". The fish seem happy and the tank looks cleaner!

    Our special snail died.

We have 2 engineer gobies, a maroon clown, a lawnmower goby, a sea urchin, serpent star, cowry snail, some random snails, about 6 hernit crabs, a pj cardinal, 3 chromis, a clam, a sebae anemone, and a few corals in our 75. We are trying to feed one cube a day now.

In our 125 we have a horse shoe crab, 2 picaso clowns, coral banded shrimp, hawain crab, 4 hermit crabs, some limpets, and an olive snail. We also are feeding one cube in this tank.

do you have a grounding probe? any small traces of electricity in the system will cause snails to act "special"
