Are these good snails? It seems i heard somewhere that they eat coraline algea... but i am probobly wrong.

While i am at it, does chaetomorph do well with indirect light?

Depends on what it is you're calling a turbo snail. There is probably at least half a dozen commonly labeled with that name. Off the top of my head I can't think of a single snail that eats coralline algae so you should be fine there regardless of what you ended up with.

All the different snails have different pros and cons as well as diets.

For the algae do you mean kept in a tank which just received ambient room light?

I thought that I was insne when i thought that snails eat coraline

As for the cheato, I have it hanging in a container inside of my tank, there is a halide on one side of my tank with some actinics. The cheato is getting light but it is indirect light.. i was just wondering if that would be enough light. I know that you would have to see it to tell for sure. Generally speaking though, does cheato need a lot of direct light... Im assuming they do not seeing as people grow them with just normal light bulbs but i just wanted to make sure the light does not have to be direct.

Is cheato pretty good stuff or do you have any advice on this stuff? Right now i am just trying to get it to grow and in about a week or two i will probobly have a proper hang on refugium going. Would you recommend that i use something different?

Cheato is pretty widely accepted as a great macro algea. It won't go asexual and it should grow with just indirect light. The hang on refugium would be a lot better since pods and such could grow in there, but I think you're fine sticking with the Cheato. Once you get the hang on you might need a light for that since the algea would be outside the tank and might not get much light at all.
