    Hey aquarists,

I have a turboflotor 1000 that isn't pumping water fast enough as it did 3 days ago. 3 days ago I removed the skimmer from the main tank into my sump. Every since then, the pump doesn't seem to be sucking up water fast enough to cause a reaction with the reaction chamber. I did leave the skimmer out for a day after I took it out of the main tank, and before I put it in the sump. Don't know if that might of caused something. I cleaned the skimmer with tap water at least 6 to 7 times already and still nothing. Don't know what might be the problem. If anyone has a turboflotor and had the same issue please let me know, or if anyone might know what the problem is please reply. Thanks.

    Tyslin,

Take pump apart and check impeller if possible. Check air intake port and make sure it is not plugged up.

It is also possible that your LR bio-filter is working so well that the skimmer is just not getting sludge to get started right now...Mine does this periodically and is common to most skimmers.

    Elsewise - dunna know
    Om

Thanks for the input guys, sound like i will have to go deeper into the pump to see if there is any obstruction. I check air intake and nothing is clogging it up. It just looks like the pump has gotten weaker. Again I'll take it apart further and check the impeller and give u an update. thanks guys really appreciate your help and advise.

Found the problem, and this ones for the new guys in this hobby. The problem was that I put the housing of the Pump wrong. There is a small opening on the housing that looks like a grill that is used for pumping the water into the pump. I out it back upside down, and although water was being pump in, it was being obstructed by the grill being setup wrong. So once I took out the housing and reversed the setup or put it right side up the pump was pulling alot of water into the reaction chamber and all is well know. Newbie mistake that I am willing to share with other newbies and thanks to the folks that gave me some advise on this matter, thanks again.
