There is no bottom brace on the tank.

Where do you get the foam? Home Depot?

I think the tank is homemade (not by me). Also, the glass is 7/16" thick. I don't know if this is standard glass thickness of a 75 gallon.

I would not trust that thin of a glass pain.

You can get foam ad HD or Lowes in hardware.

Well I gave my input, I just really hope we don't hear a thread' "help 75 gallons of water on my floor what do I do!!!" I wouldnt trust a 75 gallon homemade tank unless I personally know who made it jmo gl though :)

I appreciate all of your responses, but I am confused.
    1. The trim does not support the tank in any way; it was held together with Gorilla glue.
    2. If there is a brace on it already, and I remove it and put a brace around the perimeter of the tank, how is it any worse?

Held together with gorilla glue? I would not use that thing to hold air. There are certain silicones that need to be used when building tanks and gorilla glue is not one of them.

NO! The glass is not the same. The trim is there for structure & not so for looks. On rimless tank the glass is thicker for one & I'm sure it's stronger also. Like others have stated on rimless tanks in the past, it is not advised to build your rock onto the glass.

Trim may not LOOK like it's bracing the tank, but it is.

I would just like to add that a lot of the members that have commented on this thread are 3Reef "heavy hitters" It may be be a bummer but it sounds like your idea may not be very safe. You would feel a lot safer going with a tank made specifically for your needs. Sorry

Most rimless 75 gallon tanks use 1/2" glass for extra strength and a greater surface area for the silicone to seal to. Standard glass is between 5/16 and 3/8. I would say that you are running a high risk on that tank for failure.
