    day 2

Well its day 2 of the construction did not get as far as planed :( ( you know things don't ever go as planed ), had to stop and go pick up some more building materials a 40 mile round trip, at least it's closer than the local pet shop. so these photos only show a little progress, :(

and here is the start of the bases for the tanks with some temporary supports.

Is this a trailer that this is being built into. my only question if it is and you run it perpendiculer with floor joists will subfloor hold. you might have already thought of this but if you haven't might want to check what is under floor and resupport if nessary. great build though, looking good.

Yes it is the floor is all 2x6s don't think there will be any problems with it supporting the weight , years ago i had a 110 gal tank set in this very spot with out any problems and with this build the weight is spread out over a much larger space then the 110 covered, but that is a good point you bring up thanks for the concern.

I just had a thought, so I thought I'd share... what happens if you need new carpet one day? Can that be worked around?

I have no idea, just bringing it up to you.

I trimmed the carpet and removed it from under all the sill plates that i attached to the floor, so it rests right on the plywood floor.

good thought i planed on the carpet thing one of those things the wife
    brought up from the start

Niiice looks great! Can we get a pic of where the humidity is going to exit that room - sounds like you have everything planned out.
