Yes pictures will be in a few days of the light stages.... that is if earl doesn't wipe out the power and such then it will be longer,

been busy doing hurricane preparedness for the home and tank ,
2 converters, small generator, water, plus picking up and putting stuff away. batteries and the normal stuff. ;)
We will see what happens.

No, but your build thread on them does. That's super rad.

Does it get really hot? The gutter I mean. Hmm, I mean the coat hanger piece too.

Hey, what is that PowerHead you have in there? It looks like a siamese twin Koralia of some sort... Is it a trick or is that really what it is? Looks neato.

I have had no problem with it getting hot, it does get warm to the touch, it seems to get enough air being it is all open top and bottom. ;)

Dude! you are a man of many talents! LOVE THE BUILD, it has got to be the coolest thread I have read in a while I read all 29 pages I was so excited. Love your lights, I have been thinking about making something else for my frag tank, I have all the parts and now I have the means, I will post pictures when I build mine and give you all the credit!

The best part about this whole thing is your showing everyone out there that is can actually be done on a shoestring, you don't have to spend a fortune on lights, Pumps, skimmers and other pieces parts to have a super nice tank.

Have you ever given any thought to putting a runway between the tanks? I mean something like this only not quite as elaborate. That way your fish can go from tank to tank. There are some other pictures of other tanks with connecting tubes like that one out there I just don't have links to them. A man with you talent for DIY should not have any problem making something like that.

Keep it up and keep posting the DIY videos please.

being the frag tank build is on hold till next year.( waiting on constructing the greenhouse ) all the solar setup i have now will be used on my main tank, first for emergency power for when we have power outages, and as i add panels and a larger battery bank i will start using it to supplement the power use of my tanks on a daily basis.

so here are a few pictures of what i have been up to.

    panel kit i bought

    upgraded 30 amp solar regulator

and of course there has to be some diy. 8)
    tabbed cells
    [IMG]

2nd half of the first diy panel
    [IMG]

    1st half of panel 1

the 2 half's will be framed and wired together to make one panel.
