It is time to upgrade from my crushed coral based 55g tank to a new 75g! I want to go with live sand this time around but I didn't want to waste the crushed coral from my current tank. Does anyone have experience or opinions on mixing live sand and crushed coral? I don't see why this wouldn't work but I thought I'd ask!

I just did it recently and dont see any problems with it yet. Do you plan on having sand sifters in your tank? They are less likely to sift the CC than the sand.

Trying to switch over in one day!

I have a yellow watchman goby right now, what else would you suggest with a CC & LS base? Also don't you think a spike will occur? My crushed coral should be fine but adding lets say 75+ gallons of live sand may cause something to happen?

I mixed them when I set up my tank, and now i am looking for safe ways to remove the CC. It's messy, and it's all sifted to the top, so I don't really see the sand anyways.
