    Hey guys,

I just got the go ahead to build a new tank, because we have to re-do the floor, and building a new tank and transferring is going to be easier than moving the current one twice in order to do the floor.

Anyway, current tank is a corner tank, so I only have one 400 watt lumenarc for it, and it works great.

The new tank will be a standard rectangle. ( 48" or 60" long, haven't decided yet) I was thinking of buying a new reflector, and two 250 watt ballasts. Simply converting my old light to a 250 watt, but using the reflector.

Can anyone forsee any problems with using two different reflectors, will it make a difference?

I don't really see any issues. You may get a different light spread and if your using a canopy, you won't see it anyways.

yes it will be inside of a canopy for sure. I won't go open top again ... too many fish like to take the ol' plunge when given the opportunity, it ends up being quite an expensive look.
