Well, lfs was having a sale 50% off so I picked up a mushroom w/zoas and a kenya w/a baby attached for $10.00 each.

Everything went well, floated them then as I was moving them to a 1 gallon bucket I have I snipped the bag open with the leather and proceeded to drop the whole thing into the bucket landing coral side down. Luckily there was some water still in the bag and some water in the bucket but it fell just under a foot.

It's stayed all shrinky dinky since being put into the tank. Should I be worried or just wait it out?

It seems to have relaxed some since my original post. Also I realized that the angle I had it at in the tank wasn't the same as the angle it had been growing at (relative to the angle of the bottom of the rock anyway) that it had in the store so I adjusted that as well.

I did find bubble algae on it as well though so since I had it out of the tank I just plucked those things off (felt like bb's) and tossed them down the sink.

If its any compensation that coral probably went through a lot rougher treatment before the short drop into the bucket it had with you
soft corals are very hardy IME, you can remove them from water, cut them up, tie them to bits of rocks and end up with a perfect coral

i have a finger leather just slightly smaller. i saved it and a couple other softies frags from a friends tank when his heater went out (temps in the mid 60's) i simple placed it on the substrate of my 55 to see how it would do. i have crabs pick it up and drag it around as other things. Mine has been through some maltreatment and is doing wonderfully. i dont have it on a frag plug. it is frequently knocked over but always sems to find a way to right itsely and bury itself in the substrate. they are very hardy corals. best of luck!!!

I don't doubt that when you paint the picture like that.

main reason I picked this one out was because it already has a baby coming out at another place on the rock.

    how do they propagate?

What kind of crab do you have? I have an emerald that hung around it for a long while last night, but I think it was mainly picking flecks of something it was eating from around the base. I did have some bubble algae that I had to pull off so I had assumed the emerald was eating the remains of what I didn't get.

That looks like a Kenya tree coral to me, and they drop mini replica's of themselves

wont be long before that tree becomes a forrest
