    Picked up this cool Torch that has bulbs on the tentacles that look awesome, can't wait till it gets bigger.

    I can't remember the name of it (though I want to say Carnation, sounded something like that I think), but I was told to hang it upside down hanging off a rock in the shade. I have it in the sand now cause I haven't had time to arrange my rocks to accommodate it.

    That torch is a pink frogspawn and the carnation is difficult to keep alive having special feeding requirements. Great looking stuff. I like bringing home new goodies.

    Is it a pink frogspawn or is it a pink branching hammer coral?

    the frogspawn/hammer is fairly easy to keep, but a carnation is more difficult because I believe they are not photosynthetic and require phytoplankton supplements for their feedings.

    They do that. I have been sold myself a few times.:-/ If you get a good book and bring it to your LFS with you that will help.

    Great pics and corals. You should do what I used to do YRS ago. I used to take with me [IMG] and [IMG] , and when I saw something I liked, I would look it up real fast. I brought them with me when I knew I was going to the LFS. lmao Luna

    If they told you a carnation coral is easy, then ask them to warranty it.

    This is what is written about Carnations in my ref. book;

    Min. size tank.........100g or bigger

    Lighting.....bright illumination may be harmful.

    Foods and feedings.......Need to be fed heavily, as they lack zooxanthellae. Benefit from phytoplankton additions; do best in tanks with well-developed sand bed infauna that produces small invertebrate larve.

    Aquarium Suitability.......Essentially impossible to maintain. Should not be purchased.

    I would return it and either get store credit or exchange it for something else. Luna

    Yea, he was like if I bought the Frogspawn, he would give me the Carnation(if that is what it is) for $10. Said to put it in the shade.
