I know pictures help. I have tried to capture them on a camera with no avail. The first is what could best be described as a plant root on my glass, about an 1/4" long and at the end what looks like a light tuft of cotton. The other is a small vertical growth on the LR, brownish in hue and the same cottonesque filament at the end. I am assuming they are simple filter feeders? I usually can track down and ID the things I find in my tank but this one has me vexed.

Hmm. unless it is a different version, It does look like any that I have waxed before. I dont think its a feather duster, as it never retracts.

I understand that, in fact that was the first thing I said in my post. I was hoping that it was something common someone could ID by description alone. Thanks for trying to help ID them for me though.
