    As the title states.....

First, these are pods correct? The white things all over the glass. There are thousands of them and I'm getting nervous.

Second, what is this? It happened in my HOB filter that I converted to grow chaeto. I changed the light to a 10 watt 6500k led and the chaeto started growing very rapidly. Now this white/translucent thing has encapsulated the chaeto. Is this some sort of sponge?

    Thanks for looking

In the first pic, you have Munnid isopods...great fish food/algae feeders.

In the second pic, I'm assuming you mean the little white tubes sticking up, which are likely either Sabellid dusters or Chaetoplerid tubeworms (I'd have to see them out to ID them, but my gut is saying Chaetoplerids). Both are harmless filter feeders.

The white tubes sticking up is dead chaeto. The entire green ball of chaeto is covered in a translucent sponge material. It looks like tiny bubbles in the picture but it is a solid, squishy material. I don't want to take it out for a pic because if it is a sponge it may die. Also, I'm not sure how these reproduce; but, I have been seeing small white pineapple sponges popping up around the tank.
