60 gal DT with a 55 gal sump, half of which is a fuge with a DSB.

Two weeks in, all levels seem with in parameters with the exception of pH which is a titch low at 8.03. I still haven't seen any inkling of a diatom bloom in either my main DT or my refugium in my sump.

Is this normal or is the chaeto along with my GFO reactor be keeping this at bay?

I started the tank with dry live rock and let that cure in heated salt water with no light for a month or so with a small canister filter that had good bacterial on it before I even introduced it to the tank. Additionally, I used about 120# of live sand. 60# in my DT and about 60# in my fuge for a DSB. I have about 6" of sand for my DSB.

Hey bigdubb! I am sure you will have it, when I moved my 40b in to a 72 bow front it took awhile, but my pristine looking tank after a few weeks took to bloom and it hasn't stopped yet. :/

I never had diatoms in my 55g. And its been more than a year. I did however have a tonne of cyano.

    What is ghost feeding?

I have a CUC crew in the tank a long with three blue green chromis.

Yesterday I finally got my two MP10Ws in, so circulation in the DT is significantly greater than it was before. Today I looked in the tank and noticed some diatoms on the rock.

The new pumps seem to be disturbinig a bunch of pods in the tank. The cromis have been going nutz, its' fun to watch. I also just added 17 nerites to the tank.

Ghost feeding is feeding a tank without livestock to either cycle a tank, or to maintain bacteria levels in a cycled tank. Since you have livestock, just keep on feeding them! Congrats on the MP10s also :)
