Thanks! Not sure yet, I am more than open to suggestions. Basically everything in the nano will be starting from frags and grown out I believe is my only "plan" thus far

Haha glad I could help with the decision!

Haha i am hired by clients out of town all the time, all you need to do is buy the plain ticket, and cover my expenses ;-)
Again no specific plan in mind other than to use it as a "frag" tank essentially and documenting growth.
I can officially except the title I think of reef junkie as well, and I feel like I "cheated" until this nano as I officially cycled a brand new tank now. My 72 gallon reef was mature when buying it. ****ty water perameters, and empty, but the rock and water column was mature for sure.

So the lighting on the 18gallon units is always two of their LED hoods! The 4 and 8 gallon have one, the 18 gallon has two :) Literally all you need with these units is to buy a heater, your LR, and sand bed and your off to the races!

I am patiently waiting for the RKL moonlight module to come in now as there are some things to look at in the tank....it's taking a while for some reason not sure why. Went with the blue module and ordered an addition red bulb to add so itll be a weird eerie blue/red light mixture at night on the nano. Similar to how my dragon tank casts infrared light at night onto my 72 gallon.

Timelapse is certainly a great idea, I should do one of my 72 gallon with the sunrise/sunset cycles on my AI units.

I could not be happier with how all this is going!

Ok so small updated on this baby as I have basically maxed out my 72 gallon main DT, grabbed a couple of adds and new pics!

Here is the first VISIBLE fish in here as I still have not seen the goby I bought with the paired shrimp. I know they're there, just under all the flat base rock.

He is red and white like Peppermint but no he is a Fire Shrimp, my favorite in the group among shrimp.

    That tank looks fantastic too.

Sorry yes just realized my mistake, my bad!

Thanks for the ID correction and kind words!

I am very happy with this unit.

Also I forgot to state I decided a way to go with this little thing. The final stock list will include another blood shrimp, a fire goby(The white/red guys with mohawk fin), and the final add with be a purple/yellow dotty back being the most agressive and final add. A couple more in my clean up crew would be good I think as well.

As for coral, the tank will be comprised of nothing but super colourful/rare ricordia/yuma/mushrooms, as well as some blastos for additional colour.
We'll see how well I can stay to the plan!

I love it! And +1 to Fire Shrimp.

IMO I wouldn't put a Dottyback in that tank, as they can be very aggressive in a tank that small.

The guy I purchased the tank from has the 8 gallon version of this and his purple/yellow dotty back does fantastic in there as long as there is a top for no jumping spectacles. Other than that it's very content, and my volume is more than double his so I'm hoping Itll be ok.

Thanks for the compliments everyone, I can't wait to see some coral in this thing, may go grab the first ric/yuma today! The rare ones are expensive :-(

Well I guess that it would be fine then :) I just heard about them being aggressive in smaller tanks a while ago.

How much do Rics and Yumas cost up there? They're really cheap in Florida, so I wouldn't know :)

Well it really depends on colouration and size I suppose, but any of the really nice ones I want are always $100+. To be honest the guy I go to in Kingston destroys and of the Toronto or Ottawa prices for frag dealers so I think I actually have it easy!

As for the dotty back we'll see, If I put him in notice he's a nuisance/psycho...out he goes haha.
